The last time the Miami Dolphins met the Houston Texans was in 2022, and Tua Tagovailoa and co. cruised to a 30-0 halftime lead. While the Texans scored the last 15 points of the game, it was way too little, too late in an easy win for the Dolphins.
Two years later, many of the same pieces are in place for the Dolphins. But the Texans are almost an entirely different team.
Houston put its rebuild in turbo by taking quarterback C.J. Stroud and pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. with the second and third overall picks in the 2023 NFL draft. They won Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, respectively, and the team retooled in the 2024 offseason by adding veterans like Joe Mixon, Stefon Diggs, and Danielle Hunter to the mix.
While Diggs is done for the year and Houston has stumbled in recent weeks, the 8-5 Texans still represent a tough test for the Dolphins to overcome.
