The NFL announced a couple of changes to the Week 17 Sunday schedule on Monday.
The game between the Packers and Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis will now kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET instead of 1 p.m. ET. The Cowboys’ road game against the Eagles had been scheduled for the later window, but will now be played at 1 p.m. ET instead.
Fox will broadcast both games and the NFC North matchup will now be broadcast to a nationwide audience rather than a regional one. Both teams are likely headed for the playoffs and the Vikings still hope to wind up as the division champs and the top overall seed in the NFC, so there are greater stakes riding on the results of that game than the one between the NFC rivals.
If the Vikings beat the Packers, they will guarantee themselves a chance to win the top seed and the division by beating the Lions in Week 17. If they lose and the Lions beat the 49ers on Monday night, the Lions will clinch both of those prizes.
The Packers will clinch a playoff berth by beating the Saints on Monday night, but they do not have a path to the NFC North title.
