The Seattle Seahawks are seemingly trying to sell high on wide receiver DK Metcalf. But a number of interested parties, including the Carolina Panthers, reportedly aren’t buying.
According to The Athletic senior NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Seahawks are currently sniffing around for a first-round pick and a third-round pick in a potential trade of Metcalf. Russini also noted that the two-time Pro Bowl pass catcher is believed to be seeking a new contract worth approximately $30 million per year.

Metcalf, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport Tom Pelissero on Wednesday, has requested a trade from the Seahawks. The 27-year-old, who reeled in 66 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 2024, has one season remaining on his contract.
Given Metcalf’s ties to Carolina head coach Dave Canales, who worked as the Seahawks’ quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator during DK’s first four seasons in Seattle, the receiver-needy Panthers could be a possible fit for a deal.
If the price, however, remains too high, then perhaps a reunion between Metcalf and Canales won’t be in the works.
