The return of Jalen Two-Shoes on Sunday on Sunday will cost the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback $5,628 after the NFL fined him for a uniform violation.

In the Eagles’ 27-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Jalen Hurts wore cleats that did not match in color. That’s not a violation, but one of the colors was.

Jordan said the choice to wear contrasting cleats grew from his appearance at a Jordan Brand Wings youth program last week, when he presented Air Jordan shoes to a group of high-achieving Philadelphia high school students and also displayed his cleat collection.

“I was supposed to wear the Columbia 11s that I gifted the kids that were at the Wings initiative after last week’s game,” Hurts said about his two-color shoe choice on Sunday, “and they never came in. Ended up having all my shoes there. Guy wanted to take some pictures, took about five minutes, so I’m very casual and ended up taking pictures with two different cleats, and I was like, ‘Well, I’ll wear these on Sunday since my shoes didn’t come in.’ So, hopefully, they come in soon.”

But the NFL determined Hurts’ choice violated the league’s uniform and equipment rules, NFL Network reported, and fined the former Alabama quarterback for wearing a shoe that wasn’t one of the Eagles’ “constitutional team colors.”

Hurts has worn mismatched shoes previously this season without getting fined.

During Philadelphia’s 37-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 27, Hurts’ right cleat came off on the first play of the fourth quarter. Hurts couldn’t get the knot untied to get the shoe back on, causing the Eagles to take a timeout. Hurts got another cleat for his right foot and returned to the field in unmatched shoes while the equipment staff worked on the knotty problem.

“That was a first,” Hurts said after the game. “I hate that we had to burn the timeout on that one. I had a double knot. Usually when I wear a low-top Air Jordan, I got them tied up real tight so I can have good ankle support. I tied it up so tight, I could not take the knot off, so I had to go Jalen Two-Shoes for a bit. Got some points, so that was cool.”
