The NFL has assigned the officiating crew for Sunday’s showdown between the Lions and Vikings.
Lead referee Brad Rogers will head the crew for the de facto NFC North championship game at Ford Field. The winner between Detroit and Minnesota moves to 15-2, wins the division and earns the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
Rogers, who has been a lead referee since 2019, previously worked the Lions game against the Cardinals in Week 3.
He also worked the Week 18 game between the Lions and Vikings last season, a 30-20 win for Detroit. He has not worked a Vikings game this season.
His crew ranks sixth in the league with 207 penalties called and an average of 13.8 per game, according to NFL Penalties.
Rogers, who is from Texas, began officiating in 1991 when he worked high school games in the state. He later became an official in the SEC and Conference USA before joining the NFL’s developmental program in 2015.
Rogers was hired by the NFL in 2017 as a field judge, and was promoted to referee following the retirement of John Parry.
Kickoff between the Lions and Vikings at Ford Field is set for 8:20 p.m. The game can be seen on NBC.
