The preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 are in full flow with the eight-member ICC tournament set to mark a remarkable return in February next year after an eight-year sabbatical.

New Zealand will tour Pakistan ahead of the ICC event to play in a tri-series involving South Africa. According to reports, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) sent a delegation of two people to take note of the security arrangements in the host country.

Why did New Zealand cricket send a delegation to Pakistan?

The two-member delegation of New Zealand Cricket will thoroughly analyse the security arrangements in Pakistan to ensure the safety and security of their team ahead of the ODI tri-series in February 2025.

The two-man delegation included security expert Reg Dickason and New Zealand Players’ Association representative, Brad Rodden. They visited Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi to confirm the security arrangements before the Blackcaps travel to the subcontinent next year. The duo also visited the Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Lahore and Rawalpindi, respectively.

When is the tri-series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa starting?

The four-match tri-series between  Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa will start on February 08, 2025. The tournament will take place right before the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for February 19, 2025. The series will see each team playing the other once in a round-robin format. The two teams with the most wins will play a final.
