GRAND BLANC TWP. (WNEM) – Good things are on the horizon for the economy in Grand Blanc Township thanks to a new warehouse distribution center.
Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Group, said the new facility will bring over a hundred employees to the warehouse, creating ample jobs for the area.
It’s also another reason why Herman says the Flint & Genesee Group are ready to welcome more major projects to the area.
“This is just great to have this facility in Genesee County, right here in Grand Blanc Township, many more to come,” Herman said.
The two-hundred thousand square foot facility will distribute several beer brands from Grand Blanc’s Enterprise Park.
John P. O’Sullivan Distributing is consolidating all its operations into the new facility, showing they mean business when it comes to choosing the Grand Blanc area as their base of operations.
Joan O’Sullivan-Butler, president of the company, said that as someone who grew up in the area, it feels right being back.
“My dad started this business in 1976, and I’m second generation,” O’Sullivan-Butler said. “And my children are here. We’re hoping to have them be third generation, and I just feel his presence here.”
O’Sullivan-Butler said the move to Grand Blanc Township took several years of planning and will allow for more expansion in the future.
Right now, the company and its workers are focused on getting settled in and re-acquainting themselves with the area.
“It’s not easy moving beer and kegs. In one weekend to get over here from a forty-year-old building. So, it was quite a weekend last weekend but, we’re here. We’ve been operating out of here since Monday and everything is going really well.”
John P. O’Sullivan Distributing serves more than 2,200 retailers, bars and restaurants across an 11-county region.
