PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Demolition of the Spinnaker Beach Club has begun. An excavator could be seen ripping down portions of the old bar throughout the day on Tuesday, July 30.
The original bar opened in 1972 but closed its doors after being damaged by Hurricane Michael.
A new Tootsies Orchid Lounge will occur after the original Tootsies in Pier Park closed its doors late last year.
The other major project making way in Panama City Beach is the Topgolf hoping to finish in 2025.
The area where the complex is set to go up is already cleared and some locals are excited about it.
“We are excited, I can’t wait for it to be bigger out here, we need more lanes and it’s going to be amazing. It is going to be awesome. All of those homes back there, it’s going to be great,” said Kristi Hill, a Panama City Beach resident.
