Just over a year after construction started, the Nevada basketball programs have new locker rooms and lounges on campus.
The $12 million project was unveiled to invited guests on Monday night and opened to Wolf Pack basketball players on Tuesday.
The new facility sits adjacent to the Ramon Sessions Performance Center facility, inside the Lombardi Rec Center, and across from Lawlor Events Center.
The new digs include 17 lockers with a huge Wolf Pack logo on the ceiling. The nameplate above each locker thanks the various benefactors.
The lounge on the second floor, approximately 100 by 40 feet, has a large couch, several tables and chairs, a refrigerator and dining area and a separate room just for playing video games with three chairs and two TVs.
The deck opens up to a view to the west that includes Lawlor Events Center.
The project broke ground in June 2023. It was made possible due to a $4 million donation from Eric and Linda Lannes, whose names are on the bricks outside the building.
There were also two $2 million donations for the project by anonymous donors
In February 2022, the university and the athletics department jointly announced the funding for the project.
