In order to watch several college football and NFL games that will be streaming-only events on Peacock during the 2024 football season, you’ll need to sign up for NBC’s low-cost streaming platform. If you sign up for Peacock before the NFL First Friday showdown tonight, you can get four months of Peacock for just $20 instead of the usual $31.96 you would pay month-by-month . Do this before the Packers and kickoff tonight, because the deal expires Friday evening.
• WATCH: Eagles vs. Packers and more football live on Peacock (Use the “TGIF” promo code to pay just $4.99/month instead of the usual $7.99/month you would pay month-by-month without this deal).
As a reminder, NBC and Peacock intend to have a good amount of NFL and college football games featured exclusively on Peacock during the year. Without Peacock, you won’t be able to watch those games. For example, the Oregon Ducks Week 2 game against the Boise State Broncos will only be available on Peacock Premium’s monthly, or annual plan. If you are a fan of a Big Ten football team, or need a way to watch every NFL game, Peacock will now be a must-have streaming service.
Unfortunately, there is no free trial currently available for Peacock. However, the cost of the service is very reasonable. Peacock Premium usually costs just $7.99/month, or is even cheaper with the annual plan at $79.99/year. However, as an early season incentive for new and returning Peacock subscribers, you can use the special “TGIF” promo code at checkout when you sign up to get four months of Peacock for just $20 if you sign up before Saturday. If you paid month by month, you would end up paying $31.96 for four months at the usual rate. This is a great deal if you plan to use Peacock to watch college and NFL football over the course of the season.
If you are a current student, it’s even cheaper with the student discount for $1.99/month as long as you sign up for the annual plan. If you hate watching ads, you can also select the $13.99/month ad-free Premium Plus Plan, which you can cancel at any time.
Peacock is not a TV channel, and will not be available from regular cable or satellite TV providers. The Peacock app and streaming service is available on most smart TVs, video game consoles — like the PS4, PS5 and XBOX — as well as streaming devices like Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV and more. You can also watch on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. You can get the peacock app on the App Store or for Google Android if you want to watch, or check out the comprehensive list of supported streaming devices for Peacock if you are unsure if your device is compatible.
Peacock offers a slew of regular live sports programming on a weekly basis like NFL Sunday Night Football in addition to Premier League matches every weekend. It also happens to be the new home for WWE Networks, including events like Wrestlemania and more. Peacock also gives you a ton of historically popular shows and movies to watch on demand. That’s not even mentioning some extremely popular Peacock original series like “Love Island,” and movies that have just released from theaters. For example, Peacock just recently added Ryan Gosling’s new comedy film “Fall Guy” shortly after playing in theaters, and also added the wildly-popular Austin Butler motorcycle movie, “The Bikeriders” and more.
The bottom line: Considering all of the offerings we outlined above, Peacock is one of the best streaming services available in 2024 in terms of value for your money. For as low as $7.99/month, you get a ton of stuff to watch. But, it also comes down to what you need out of the streaming service. It has everything from live sports to new release movies and top reality TV and drama series. If you are unsure about it, keep in mind that it would cost you under $8 to sign up and you could watch it for an entire month to decide whether or not it is worth the money. Either way, it’s a low-risk prospect to try it out.
