The Huskers concluded their weekend trip to Indiana on Sunday with a clash against the Hoosiers. Nebraska faced a major deficit early on in the game, which continued throughout the rest of the afternoon. Despite the Huskers’ efforts, the Hoosiers controlled the game, resulting in a 76-60 defeat for Nebraska.
Indiana put Nebraska in a deep hole to climb out of during the second quarter, taking a commanding 32-14 lead. Though the Huskers headed into halftime down 36-24, they never managed to close the gap.
The Hoosiers outshot Nebraska from the floor and beyond the arc. The Huskers allowed Indiana to go 13-of-30 from three while they shot 3-of-11. Nebraska also coughed up 17 turnovers, which Indiana converted into 15 points.
The freshmen trio of Petra Bozan, Britt Prince and Amiah Hargrove led Nebraska in scoring, each dropping double-digit points to combine for 34. Bozan finished with a team-high 12 points, all coming in the fourth quarter which included a 7-0 run to open the period and cut Indiana’s lead to 57-48.
Prince and Hargrove each had 11 points in the loss. Prince finished 5-of-11 from the floor and a team-high three steals. Hargrove shot 4-of-8 in total and led the Huskers in free throws, going 3-of-3.
Nebraska falls to 16-6 on the season and 7-4 in the conference. The Huskers return home on Thursday night when they host the Michigan Wolverines. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on Peacock.
