Another former Husker found their new school via the transfer portal. Running back Gabe Ervin Jr. is joining neighboring Big 12 team the Kansas State Wildcats.
Ervin Jr. entered the portal following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season. He finished the season rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns off 14 carries.
He spent four seasons with the Huskers, rushing for 455 yards and five touchdowns off 109 carries. Injuries riddled Ervin Jr’s run at Nebraska, sidelining him for a majority of the past three seasons.
He spent this season behind Dante Dowdell, Emmett Johnson and Rahmir Johnson. He now joins a team that finished with 2,801 rushing yards as a team.
DJ Giddens led Kansas State in rushing with 1,343 yards but declared for the NFL Draft last month. Ervin Jr. will team up with former Colorado running back Dylan Edwards in Manhattan.
Edwards rushed for 546 yards and five touchdowns off 74 carries for the Wildcats in 2024. He capped off the season rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns off 18 carries in the Rate Bowl.
