After the third week of the 2024 Nebraska high school football season, teams that have remained undefeated dominate the Nebraska On3 Massey Ratings top 25 list as of Sept. 17.

From Westside (1^st) to Stanton (25^th), 14 teams with a 3-0 record dominate the rankings. However, not all records are equal because some squads faced more formidable opponents. Hence, here’s where Nebraska’s best football teams are before another round of games occurs on the 20^th.

The On3 Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Previous: No. 1
The Warriors are the best team on both sides of the ball, especially after their 34-12 victory over Millard West. Westside scored on all facets, tallying a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown, a kickoff return touchdown, and an interception return for a touchdown. Westside can improve their standing to 4-0 with a win over Bellevue West on Sept. 20.

Previous: No. 2
Wahoo improved to 3-0 by scoring 66 points against Aurora. In that game versus the Huskies, Kip Brigham carried the Warriors offense with 342 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He added a receiving touchdown to his spectacular performance, scoring 48 of Wahoo’s 66 points. Through three games, Brigham has 630 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. He can add more with another dominant showing against Daniel J. Gross on Sept. 20.

Previous: No. 3
The Badgers became the second-best defensive team in Nebraska high school football after surrendering just 14 points in their first three games. After shutting down Waverly in their season opener, Bennington allowed seven points each to Gretna East and Hastings Senior. Against the Tigers, Will Gutz had 134 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Morgan Schumann had touchdowns off a fumble recovery and an interception. Bennington can keep their unblemished record with a win over Northwest on Sept. 20.

Previous: No. 4
The Knights tallied a season-high 62 points in their Sept. 12 game against North Bend Central. Norfolk Catholic started the game with 28 unanswered points to put the game out of reach. Max Hammond had a punt return for a touchdown and two rushing touchdowns to seal their third win in as many games. The Knights can improve to 4-0 with a win over Arlington on Sept. 20.

The Patriots defense has stepped up after their season-opening loss to Basha, Arizona’s second-best high school football team. After blanking Millard West, Millard South gave up only three points to Kearney. Quarterback Jett Thomalla threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns, while Gabe Prucha had three rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Millard South’s defense had 5.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for losses against Kearney. Millard South can continue its undefeated run against Millard North on the 20^th and Lincoln Southeast on the 27^th.

Previous: No. 6
The Skyhawks soared to a 42-7 victory over Plattsmouth, improving their record in the 2024 Nebraska high school football season to 3-0. In addition to the 35-point winning margin, Skutt Catholic tallied 382 yards on offense and limited the Blue Devils to eight passing yards. The Skyhawks will likely continue their dominance against Ralston (Sept. 20) and Elkhorn (Sept. 27).

Previous: No. 7
The Storm completed their best performance this season by shutting down North Star 38-0. Quarterback Madden Riggs had 222 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Landon Tate had 98 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Elkhorn South’s defense generated one interception, one sack, and nine tackles for losses. The Storm could close the month with a 5-0 mark after defeating Grand Island Senior School and Omaha South Magnet in the next two Fridays.

Previous: No. 8
The Braves have kept their opponents to 6.66 points per game after allowing only seven points to Boone Central. Meanwhile, Jaxon Mettler provided some offense with two rushing touchdowns, while Aden Pochop had 86 receiving yards and a touchdown. Battle Creek can get their fourth win this season by defeating Archbishop Bergan on the 20^th.

Previous: No. 9
After coming up short against second-ranked Wahoo, the Bluejays bounced back with a 33-14 victory over Columbus-based Scotus. Ashland-Greenwood negated their four penalties with 14 first downs out of 61 plays. Quarterback Derek Tonjes had excellent command of the Bluejays offense, tallying 293 passing yards and four touchdowns. Cal Kissinger had 106 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Cael Smith scored a touchdown out of 114 rushing yards. Ashland-Greenwood can extend their winning streak with victories over Auburn on Sept. 20 and Louisville a week later.

Previous: No. 10
Lakeview continues their undefeated run by limiting Roncalli Catholic to seven points. While it was a low-scoring affair, the Vikings scored enough points to secure their third victory. The Vikings had 304 yards on offense to retain their top-ten spot. A 4-0 record is at stake when Lakeview faces Mount Michael Benedictine on the 19^th.
