The Nebraska Cornhuskers have remained active in the transfer portal this offseason. The team has added 12 players since the transfer portal opened.
Four of the incoming transfers play on the offensive side of the ball, six players will play for the Blackshirts and two of the new additions will play for the special teams unit.
Head coach Matt Rhule has said that the program could see 35-50 players depart this offseason. The new 105-man roster limit has been cited as the biggest factor in the mass departures from the team.
“I think we’ll end up with 30 to 50 guys in the portal with all things with the roster and everything that’s going to have to happen. I can’t say anything but great things about Malachi and obviously he’s not one I wanted to go in the portal, but I don’t want any of them to go in the portal, I want all of them to stay here and develop, it’s just the new world we’re in. It’s going to be different.”
