DURHAM, N.C. – Interim head coach Kendra Greene has announced the signing of Ben Wade to play men’s golf and study at North Carolina Central University for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Wade will join a talented squad at NCCU that consisted mostly of freshmen and sophomores last season and made a dramatic improvement in the Northeast Conference Championships in 2024.

Ben Wade is an incoming freshman from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was a team captain on the varsity golf team at Blackman High School. Wade earned numerous awards during his prep career, including most improved player, DNJ All-Area Golf Team, Paul Warren Golfer Honoree and First Tee Integrity Award while also winning tournaments on the Sneds Tour and Mid-South Golf Series. Wade excelled in the classroom as well and is slated to be a business major at NCCU with a concentration in financial analytics.
“I was able to watch Ben play for the first time at the PGA Junior Works Championship in May 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama, and he showed great potential and a love for the game,” said Greene. “We are excited to see how he develops once he arrives in Durham.”
