Congratulations are in order for Kyle Kuzma and Winnie Harlow.
The Milwaukee Bucks forward and the model got engaged over Valentine’s Day weekend after nearly five years together, the couple shared in a joint post on Instagram.
Kuzma, 29, proposed to Harlow, 30, with a stunning 8.5-carat oval-cut diamond ring, which features two baguette stones, during a getaway in Turks and Caicos, according to Vogue.
He chose that setting because it was the first place they vacationed together.
“I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything,” said Kuzma, who spent three months designing the ring himself. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her — something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”
Kuzma chartered a private plane, on which he decorated the cabin with roses, balloons, chocolate and champagne.
The NBA star asked the Cay Skin founder to sit down beside him and he began to read a poem he had written.
The last line of the poem was, “Will you be my wife?”
Harlow said “yes” before Kuzma pulled out the diamond engagement ring.
Once their private plane landed, Harlow and Kuzma went to their villa where both of their families were waiting to surprise them.
Harlow dropped to her knees and was in tears when she walked in, as seen in a clip the couple shared on Instagram.
Kuzma led her to the backyard pool area, where a DJ was playing “Let’s Get Married” by Jagged Edge and dinner was set up on the beach.
They enjoyed a surf-and-turf dinner and wine before Kuzma pulled off one more surprise, a fireworks display.
“We’re over the moon,” Harlow said.
Kuzma re-posted to the photos to his instagram Story with the hashtag, “She said yes.”
“Assuming the diamond is natural, it would cost around $150,000-$300,000, depending on quality,” said Olivia Landeau, the founder and CEO of The Clear Cut. “Her engagement ring is a feminine take on a classic style with a slightly vintage flair.”
The couple, who have matching tattoos on each other’s initials on their hand, will celebrate five years together in April.
