Blockbuster trade season has arrived in the NBA.
Less than 24 hours after the Los Angeles Lakers made a seismic move by trading Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic, the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls got together to pull off their own monumental trade.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Sunday night that the Kings are sending All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox and Jordan McLaughlin to the Spurs while Sacramento receives Zach LaVine from the Bulls and Sidy Cissoko from the Spurs along with three first-round picks and three second-round picks. The Bulls get Zach Collins, Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter and their 2025 pick back from Sacramento in the deal.
Fox, 27, gives San Antonio a running mate to pair with big man sensation Victor Wembanyama for the foreseeable future. Fox is averaging 25.0 points, 6.1 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 45 games this season with the Kings.
LaVine is a two-time All-Star and legit scorer, pouring in 24 points per game while shooting 44.6% from 3-point range this season. He could help the Kings make a push in a tight Western Conference playoff race.

Meanwhile, the Bulls trading away LaVine signals they are in tank mode as they try to improve their draft standing. They’ll probably look to offload another piece or two before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
The Boston Celtics aren’t in the same position to pull off a blockbuster trade, but could make a smaller move as one player on the roster has frequently been brought up in trade rumors.
