BROOKLYN, MI – Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was at Sunday’s NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway.
Jordan is the co-owner of 23XI Racing, which fields a pair of Toyotas in the Cup Series – No. 23 Bubba Wallace and No. 45 Tyler Reddick. Both are sponsored by McDonald’s this week.
Jordan was seen in Wallace’s pit box during the race. The start of the FireKeepers Casino 400 was delayed more than two hours for rain, and then halted for more rain on Lap 51. NASCAR postponed the finish until 11 a.m. Monday.

In enemy territory (Detroit Pistons country), Jordan saw both of his cars have early success. Reddick started second and will restart Monday in fifth position.
Wallace will restart Monday in second place. He made daring, three-wide move to take the lead on Lap 34, as Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson were side by side for the lead. On Lap 37, Hamlin spun out behind Wallace off Turn 4 and into the infield grass.
Most of the leaders pit, but some drivers stayed out – including Ryan Blaney, who ended up winning Stage 1. Stage 2 hadn’t begun when the rain started.
23XI Racing was formed for the 2021 season, a collaboration between Jordan and Hamlin.
Wallace earned the team its first win in October 2021, although Jordan wasn’t in attendance. He saw his team win in person for the first time this April at Talladega Superspeedway.
No word on whether Jordan will be back on Monday to watch.
