The Chicago Bulls are willing to trade star point guard Lonzo Ball, per Jake Fischer. The guard is in the middle of his comeback season, after being unable to play for two seasons.
“No surprise, then, that Bulls executives, according to league sources, have been messaging to rival front offices that they are willing to discuss the majority of their roster in trade talks leading up to the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Most notably, sources say, Chicago has expressed a desire to move LaVine, Vučević and Ball — who collectively command nearly $85 million in salary this season.”
This season, Ball has averaged five points, two rebounds, four assists, a steal, and 37% from deep in 16 minutes per game. Ball was almost considered retired after his injuries were holding him back from playing, so this is definitely a good start.
In his best season before his injury, Ball was a starter with the New Orleans Pelicans, and averaged 15 points, five rebounds, six assists, and two steals per game. If he can be given more minutes, he definitely could return to this form.
Teams like the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat could definitely use his playmaking abilities to elevate their offensive play. Only time will tell where Ball will be moved at the trade deadline.
