Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball and San Antonio Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama stand out as the biggest snubs after the NBA All-Star Game starters were announced on Thursday evening.
The Eastern Conference and Western Conference both had two guard representatives and three frontcourt members.
New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum make up the Eastern Conference five.
Meanwhile, the West quintet is Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokić, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant.
The All-Star Game format is different this year, as it’ll be a four-team tournament with three teams of NBA All-Stars and one team consisting of the Rising Stars Challenge winners. So there will technically be 15 starters, and Ball and Wembanyama could very well be on the court when festivities begin.
However, right now, the duo was left out. Fans made their opinions known.

Wemby somehow top 10 in MVP ladder but not one of the best 10 players ITL… ok https://t.co/exf97epcwR

Yes it’s criminal. Wemby deserved to be an All-Star starter this season. But the saving grace is that we all know he’s going to be a perennial starter for years to come once some folks retire. https://t.co/bEBC9j0lIE

Wemby should be starting smh but one more year n then he’ll be undeniable(or LeBron/KD will retire, who knows) https://t.co/p34o4iKFjT

Wemby up against some legendary old heads unfortunately. Hopefully his reign will begin next year https://t.co/guR5KHdnsI
Fans also noted that Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards were snubbed.

Cade Cunningham needed to be an all star starters, we got robbed. https://t.co/xBKAqx3GEI
Ball and Wembanyama will certainly be named reserves, though. The same certainly goes for Cunningham and Edwards. Fourteen players will make up that group, which will be announced next Thursday on TNT.
