The NBA Cup continues Tuesday night with a pair of quarterfinal games followed with another two on Wednesday. But without a single game being played, there has already been movement in the betting odds for a winner.
At BetMGM, the New York Knicks are the new favorites to win the tournament at +300, slightly edging out the previous favorite Oklahoma City Thunder at +310.
NBA Cup odds (BetMGM)
- Knicks +300
- Thunder +310
- Bucks +450
- Rockets +600
- Mavericks +700
- Warriors +700
- Hawks +2000
- Magic +2500
Those odds are different from where they were late last week when the bracket for the knockout stage was set and OKC led the field at +275 followed by the Knicks at +325.
The movement was likely a result of the injury to Franz Wagner, who suffered a torn right oblique on Friday. His injury for an Orlando Magic team already missing Paolo Banchero weakens the Eastern Conference side of the bracket, which obviously makes every other team’s path a little easier.
Odds for the Milwaukee Bucks, who play Orlando on Tuesday, also improved from +600 to +450. Meanwhile, Orlando’s odds plummeted from +1000 to +2500. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is still favored to win tournament MVP at +300, followed by Jalen Brunson (+550), Luka Doncic (+600), Stephen Curry (+600) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (+700).
