Will San Antonio Spurs forward-center Victor Wembanyama make his first NBA All-Star team? Will Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams? Will Los Angeles Lakers forward-center Anthony Davis earn his 10th All-Star appearance?
The answers will be revealed Thursday (6:30 p.m. ET, TNT) when the All-Star reserves are announced. The starters were unveiled last week.
Don’t forget, there is a new All-Star format for the Feb. 16 contest in San Francisco: this season’s All-Star Game will feature a mini-tournament with four teams in a three-game event. Two teams will play in one semifinal and the other two teams will play in the other semifinal with the winners meeting in the final. The first team to reach 40 points in each game is the winner.
Each team will have eight players – three teams will be comprised of the 24 NBA All-Stars and the other team will be players from the championship game of the Rising Stars game.
Three teams made up of the All-Stars will be selected by “general managers” Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith, and that draft will take place Feb. 6 on TNT. The Rising Stars’ honorary GM is former WNBA star Candace Parker.
