NBA All-Star Anthony Davis’ Jakm3n Productions has named its executive team, with Arik Burks and Keith Chamberlain boarding as COO and CAO respectively.
Jakm3n Productions is a multifaceted production company that finances, produces and develops projects across several mediums. Davis is a 9x NBA All-Star, who began his basketball career with the New Orleans Pelicans and currently plays on the Los Angeles Lakers. He is CEO of Jakm3n.
Jakm3n has come on to co-finance and co-produce, alongside Toonz Media Group, the animated feature Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk from directors Tara Whitaker and John D. Eraklis and written/created by Ciaran Crampton. Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk follows the protagonist’s journey of self-discovery, as he learns that being different isn’t a weakness, but a superpower. With the help of his loyal, oddball animal friends, Pierre finds the courage to speak up, break tradition, and change his world for the better. Pic’s voiceover cast includes will.i.am, Jennifer Coolidge, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Luis Guzmán, Kenan Thompson, Whoopi Goldberg, and Howie Mandel.
Jakm3n’s mission is to create a platform for change by embracing diversity, championing meaningful stories, and giving back to the community, making a positive impact both on and off the screen.
Davis said, “At Jakm3n, we want to showcase the rich tapestry of human experiences: the struggles, the triumphs, and the unique perspectives that make us all who we are, which is why we jumped at the opportunity to be involved in Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk.”
Jakm3n is Davis’ passion project, born from a desire to record and preserve life’s precious moments following his experiences with fatherhood. “Witnessing my own children grow and experience those milestones sparked something in me,” said Davis. “It made me realize the importance of storytelling, capturing those moments that shape us and sharing those stories with the world.”
Burks is a 3x startup veteran and has consulted for a myriad organizations, from Fortune 500 companies to NBA teams and AI startups. Chamberlain has managed logistics for the Los Angeles Lakers.
“We have an incredible team at Jakm3n,” said Davis. “Arik and Keith bring a wealth of experience and a shared passion for our mission. Together, we’re building a company that values creativity, authenticity, and social responsibility.”
Davis won the 2020 NBA Finals in his first season with the Lakers and was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team the following year and is widely regarded as one of the greatest power forwards of all time. He recently took home the Gold Medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of the US Men’s Basketball team.
