Ahead of the release of NBA 2K25, the famed video game series continued its unveiling of its top 100 players in this year’s edition on Tuesday.
NBA 2K released the players ranked from No. 51 to No. 70, with Minnesota Timberwolves star center Rudy Gobert leading the way with an overall rating of 85. Phoenix Suns veteran guard Bradley Beal was right behind him with an identical rating, while Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden was among the players with an 84 rating and came in ranked No. 58.
The list of players ranked 71 to 100 was revealed on Monday:
Gobert is coming off winning his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award, which ties him for the most all-time in NBA history. In the Paris Olympics, he helped lead France to a silver medal.
While he has proven to be one of the greatest defensive players of all time, Gobert has struggled to carry his dominance into the playoffs. The Timberwolves lost to the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the Western Conference Finals last season, with Gobert frequently being attacked on offense by the Mavs’ speedy guards.
Beal and Harden also enter the 2024-25 season with something to prove. In his first year with the Suns, Beal had a disappointing, injury-riddled season that ended when Phoenix was swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Timberwolves. Harden, who forced a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Clippers early last season, also had his year come to an end in the first round of the postseason when the Clippers fell to the Mavs.
Fans will certainly be excited to see which players are in contention for the top spot as the ratings for NBA 2K25 continue to roll out this week ahead of the Sept. 6 release of the game. Fans who preorder the game will be able to start playing on Sept. 4.
