CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – This season on Dark Side of the Land we’re profiling organized crime and mob activity from the 60s, 70s and into the 80s in Northeast Ohio.
Pete DiGravio was known as the “mayor of Little Italy” but somebody wanted him dead.
His 1968 murder is widely thought of as a mob hit, executed by a professional hit man.
It happened on the 16th tee of Orchard Hills Golf Course in Chesterland, which is now a Geauga County park.
In this podcast episode, 19 News investigator Jen Picciano outlines the many characters in DiGravio’s life who may have ordered the hit, and pulled the trigger, and goes over the many motives and circumstances leading up to this unsolved homicide.
