The former Indian World Cup-winning captain, MS Dhoni has once again taken the spotlight as he copped a new hairdo which has the Indian cricket fans talking.
The legendary wicketkeeper has ditched his longer hairdo for a new stylish pompadour look which was styled by none other than Aalim Hakim. It is to be noted that Hakim had styled Dhoni four months in the middle of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
Dhoni has been one that has showcased a variety of hairstyles. From his icon long-hair look to his version of the mohawk, the five-time IPL-winning captain has done it all. But once again he has come out with yet another stylish look.
The IPL Governing Council announced the latest mandate regarding the league’s retention rules ahead of the 2025 mega-auction. One key aspect that concerned many CSK fans was regarding MS Dhoni’s retention with the franchise should he participate in the coming season.
CSK have been handed a massive boost with regard to the rules as Dhoni can be retained by the franchise as an uncapped player. The new rule suggests that Indian players who have not played international cricket for the past five calendar years can be retained as an uncapped player.
Dhoni’s last appearance for the national team was the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal against New Zealand which India managed to lose on a heartbreaking note.
Fans of the Chennai-based franchise will be excited to know that Dhoni’s retention would not prove to be an obstacle concerning the price tag. But his participation is yet to be officially confirmed considering his persisting issues with regards to his knee.
Considering Dhoni is coming to the final chapter of his cricketing career, has seen the wicketkeeper-batter being primarily used as a power-hitter in the death overs where he has taken his finishing abilities to a new level.
With the leadership duties being handed down to Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dhoni will look to end his IPL career on a positive note, it is just a matter of when for the Indian cricket icon.
