WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – We are well into fall sports playoffs at this point.
Here is how Wednesday shaped up:
In a boys state Class B soccer playoff held at Watertown High Wednesday, Westhill blanked Canton 1-0.
Westhill’s Eric Holstein had the game’s only score.
In a boys Class C opening round soccer playoff, it took two overtimes and penalty kicks, but LIsbon beat Northern Adirondack 6-5. The win propels Lisbon into the New York State Class C quarterfinals on Saturday.
In a girls Class C soccer playoff from Potsdam high school, LIsbon’s Allison Bell Had a big day, scoring all three of her team’s goals, as Lisbon beat Moriah 3-2.
In the Section X volleyball Class A championship, Massena beat Malone 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-14.
Katelyn Benham had 5 service points, 3 aces, 3 kills, 14 assists, Nylah Tillman chipped in with 7 service points, 1 ace, 1 kill, and had an outstanding defensive outing.
Lauren Park had 6 service points, 1 ace, 10 kills and Reannon Lazore added 13 service points, 5 aces, 3 kills, 3 assists.
In the Section X volleyball Class C championship, the match between Madrid-Waddington and Canton went five sets, with the Yellow Jackets winning 24-26, 25-12, 19-25, 25-22, then winning 15-12 in the final set.
Kaitlyn Putman, Kieanna Webb, Abigail Burwell, and Baylie Skinner led the way as the Jackets advance to the Section X overall semifinals.
