Can’t get enough of your favorite player on the court? Well, Netflix has a solution for that! Just four years after he turned pro, Carlos Alcaraz, the 21-year-old Spaniard that rose in the rankings faster than you could say ‘vamos!, was sitting at the No.1 position in 2022. His 2024 season was a blast– as he won his second Wimbledon title and first Roland Garros crown! But not just one season’s achievements, Netflix is out to show you the whole journey!
Last March, Netflix announced its docuseries featuring tennis legends like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and John McEnroe. They’ve previously partnered with Alcaraz for events like The Netflix Slam, where he competed against Nadal and alongside ATP stars like Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev in seasons one and two of ‘Break Point.’ This time, Carlos is back with even more!
The series was teased last year on Netflix’s official X handle: “Good morning to the Wimbledon champ. An all-new documentary series chronicling Carlos Alcaraz’s 2024 season is coming to Netflix in 2025!” Now nearly a year later, fans got a glimpse of the series through screenshots shared by the X account of Portugal Netflix: “The No. 1 on the field, but just a 21-year-old off it. See him like you’ve never seen him before in ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way.’ Coming soon. #NextOnNetflix” dated January 30.

While an official release date is yet to be announced, excitement builds for the release of the documentary. Not to mention, Nick Kyrgios has highlighted Alcaraz’s massive female following. Will that aspect be a part of the documentary as well?
Carlos Alcaraz has quickly become a fan favorite, thanks to his stellar skills on the court and undeniable charisma. With around 6.3 million followers on Instagram, it’s clear that his smooth drop shots have won over many hearts. Surprisingly, despite his popularity, Alcaraz is still single. He confirmed his bachelorhood at the Australian Open while addressing Alex de Minaur’s engagement, saying, “Who knows this year? No engagement so far, single so far. But these holidays, three or four tennis players got engaged. I thought it was my turn,” adding with a smile, “No I didn’t.”

Nick Kyrgios added some humor to the mix on January 29 by sharing a clip on his IG story where he described Alcaraz simply as someone who “He loves females. so females.” Given Alcaraz’s massive female fanbase, it’s hard to argue with that! Beyond his talent, he engages frequently with the crowd during matches, leading to some sweet reactions from fans.
This buzz could bode well for Alcaraz’s upcoming Netflix docuseries, expected to drop sometime this year—possibly alongside his idol’s, Rafael Nadal’s documentary announced on December 18. This film explores Nadal’s legendary career and has already garnered over 10,000 likes within two hours of its announcement. As fans gear up for these releases, it looks like there’s a friendly rivalry brewing between supporters of these two tennis stars! What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
