Cogburn, the likely favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on Saturday, did his final tune-up for the race. The Steve Asmussen trainee worked an easy three furlongs in 37.8 seconds on the dirt at Del Mar, his first published drill since shipping west.

A 5-year-old horse by Not This Time, Cogburn is undefeated in three starts this year. Those include a victory in the Grade 1 Jaipur on Belmont Stakes weekend, in which he stopped the timer in a record 59.80 for the 5 1/2 furlongs. It was his fifth work since his last start, an authoritative 3 1/4-length victory Sept. 7 in the Kentucky Downs Turf Sprint (G2).

Cogburn (Not This Time), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Jaipur), worked three furlongs in 37.8 seconds at Del Mar on Monday morning. It was the slower of two works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he won the Turf Sprint (G2) going six furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 7 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Gun Pilot (Gun Runner), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Churchill Downs), worked three furlongs in 36.6 seconds at Del Mar on Monday morning. It was the faster of two works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed second in the Forego (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 24 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Storm the Court (Court Vision), a Grade 1 winner (2019 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile), worked four furlongs in 48.2 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 17 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going one mile on the main track at Laurel Park on Sept. 22 for trainer Lacey Gaudet.
Gigante (Not This Time), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Secretariat), worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Churchill Downs on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 15 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed sixth in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 10 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Salesman (Dubawi), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 25th fastest of 34 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed sixth in the Bull Dog going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Fresno on Oct. 13 for trainer Richard Mandella.
Silver Prospector (Declaration of War), a Grade 2 winner (2019 Kentucky Jockey Club), worked four furlongs in 51.1 seconds at Remington Park on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of six works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Remington Park on Oct. 19 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Kinza (Carpe Diem), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2024 Santa Ysabel, 2024 Las Virgenes), worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 15th fastest of 34 works at the distance. Her previous work was 11 days ago going four furlongs at Los Alamitos. In her last start she placed second in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on April 6 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Reincarnate (Good Magic), a Grade 3 winner (2023 Sham), worked three furlongs in 36.0 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 27 works at the distance. His previous work was 43 days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed third in the Pacific Classic (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Aug. 31 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Track Phantom (Quality Road), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Lecomte), worked five furlongs in 59.8 seconds at Churchill Downs on Monday morning. It was the second fastest of 15 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed 11th in the Kentucky Derby going 1 1/4 miles on the main track at Churchill Downs on May 4 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
