Gaming, who finished second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on Nov. 1, returned Monday for his first drill since that start. The juvenile son of Game Winner worked three furlongs at Santa Anita in 36.6 seconds. Trained by Bob Baffert, Gaming won his maiden special weight debut and the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity before meeting his first defeat in the Breeders’ Cup, behind stablemate Citizen Bull.
Motorious also returned to the work tab Monday for the first time since a placing in the Breeders’ Cup. The Phil D’Amato trainee worked three furlongs in 37.0 seconds over the Santa Anita all-weather training track. Winner of the Green Flash (G3) in each of the last two years, Motorious rallied strongly in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint, missing by a neck to Starlust.
