Last week was another week in which the Kentucky Wildcats split a pair of SEC matchups.
The Wildcats picked up a mid-week victory at home over the Vanderbilt Commodores, avenging a loss in Nashville earlier this season with an 82-61 win at Rupp Arena. However, Kentucky couldn’t pull off the upset on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, falling 96-83 to Alabama.
Without Lamont Butler and Jaxson Robinson, most expected the Crimson Tide to come out on top, but it was a bit disappointing after Kentucky started strong and held a double-digit lead in the first half on the road.
It still remains unclear when we will see Butler and Robinson back out on the floor, and with postseason play right around the corner, time is running low to get those guys back and adjusted to game action before the SEC Tournament.
Despite Saturday’s loss, Kentucky ranks 12th in the NET rankings. Kentucky was ranked 17th in the AP poll last week, so it’ll be interesting to see how much Kentucky drops in the new poll released today.
