LEWISBURG, Pa. – Saint Joseph’s freshman Hanna Mitchell paced the women’s golf team in its first official round of NCAA Division I competition on Friday as the Hawks opened play at the Bucknell Invitational.
How It Happened
• Opening the event on the back nine, Mitchell led the Hawks with a score of 91, including one of St. Joe’s two birdies on the day.
• Rookie Elora Walker shot 93 in her collegiate debut.
• Junior Allie Gesztesi joined Mitchell in carding a birdie and finished with a round of 96.
• In her first college round of competition, Ava Tornello carded a score of 103.
• Olivia Cooper rounded out the five-person squad for the Hawks as the freshman finished the day with a score of 110.
• As a team, the Hawks shot 383 and are in 13th place.
• Penn leads the field by four strokes after posting a four-person score of 295.
• Towson’s Rayab Lee sits atop the individual leaderboard with a one-stroke lead at 71.
• The Bucknell Invitational is being held at the par-70 Bucknell Golf Club (5,901 yards).
