BROCKTON — With the end of summer vacation in sight, it’s time to squeeze in all the fun before kids go back to school.
There are several facilities in the greater Brockton area that offer endless hours of entertainment for kids big and small.
Whether you’re playing glow-in-the-dark mini golf, sharpening your swing at a batting cage or driving range, or going on a virtual reality roller coaster ride in an arcade, there’s plenty to do to make the most of your kid’s time off from school.
Here are five places to keep in mind the next time you need a fun, kid-friendly place to spend the day near Brockton.
Pine Grove Park at Prisco’s Market & Deli in Bridgewater, located at 8 Romney Road, is a great place for the whole family to hang out. The 18-hole mini golf course has challenging slopes, dips, rock obstacles and New England themed props (look out for the Fenway-inspired giant baseball!). The cost to play is $9 per person. Batting cages and basketball courts are also on site. After a game, you can head over to Prisco’s Market & Deli for a sandwich, pizza or ice cream. The course and market are open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
What about Edaville? A piece of South Shore history that chugga-chuggas on today
Located at 582 Kelley Blvd. in North Attleboro, Stix Fun Center might just be worth the drive. Approximately 40 minutes outside of Brockton, the center has both a driving range and an 18-hole mini golf course, making it the perfect spot to work on your golf swing. The center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. A small bucket of 50 golf balls for the driving range is $10 and the mini golf course is $12 for players over 10 and $10 for players under 10.
When the weather forecast calls for rain, take a trip to Monster Mini Golf in Norwood for an indoor mini golf course and arcade. The 18-hole golf course is a glow-in-the-dark, monster-themed experience that adds an extra layer of fun to every game. Located at 1560 Boston-Providence Turnpike, the course is open: Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. A game of mini golf costs just $10 for children and $13 for adults.

Whether you’re learning how to play baseball for the first time or just want to sharpen your swing, 4 for 4 Player Acceleration, located at 100 Armstrong Road in Plymouth, is a great place to practice. Rent full-sized batting cages for $20 for 30 minutes or $35 for an hour. Balls, protective L-screens and tees are provided with each rental, but players must bring their own bats and helmets. All reservations are by appointment only and can be purchased online.

Ryan’s in Raynham offers both a bowling alley and game arcade packed with 35 of the hottest games, including a virtual realty roller coaster ride. Located at 115 New State Highway (Route 44), Ryan’s in Raynham is open: Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Bowling costs range from $37 to $39.95 per hour per lane, depending on the day and time. Shoe rentals are $4 per person. Lanes must be booked online at least 8 hours in advance. Ryan’s also has locations in Plymouth and Hanover.
