Milipol Qatar 2024: MOI Pavilion Showcases High-Tech Services

Doha, October 30 (QNA) – The Ministry of Interior is participating in Milipol Qatar 2024 exhibition with a pavilion that includes its various departments, showcasing the latest equipment, technology, and advanced services.

The pavilion attracted significant attention from international officials and visitors, who praised its organization and the advanced services offered by the departments, highlighting the optimal use of technology in enhancing security.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Interior said that the pavilion for the General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security displayed various marine equipment, including an unmanned patrol boat, which represents the latest advancements in technology and artificial intelligence for data collection and analysis with speed and precision. This boat is a valuable addition to the security fleet for protecting critical infrastructure, equipped with advanced monitoring systems and an independent command and control system, enabling it to execute various marine security missions with high flexibility and efficiency. It also includes thermal and day cameras as well as target tracking systems, allowing it to operate in various weather conditions.

The ministry noted that this unmanned patrol boat marks a significant advancement in maritime security through the integration of modern technology, as its intelligent, autonomous systems provide precise and efficient monitoring, reducing reliance on human involvement in high-risk tasks. This enhancement bolsters security levels and enables rapid response to potential threats, reflecting the General Directorates commitment to leveraging advanced technology and artificial intelligence to elevate security operations and minimize risks to personnel by employing this intelligent system to expand marine surveillance and protection, ultimately contributing to enhanced security and the safeguarding of vital interests.

The ministry further noted that the General Directorate of Civil Defense, through its Operations Department, aims to achieve the Ministry’s vision of regional and global leadership, enhancing public safety and security, and meeting strategic goals related to protecting lives and property and managing emergencies effectively. To this end, the department is utilizing technology to support these objectives, including using firefighting drones that contribute to rapid and efficient incident management. The Operations Department showcased two types of drones at the ministry’s pavilion, differing in size and firefighting capabilities.

The first drone, the Walkera, fights fires using water, foam, and powder and is supplied with water through Civil Defense vehicles. It can continue firefighting operations for up to 30 minutes, with the option to extend the duration by replacing the batteries. This drone features laser-based location targeting, enhancing firefighting accuracy, and it can break windows if needed to reach the specified location, effectively combating fires up to 150 meters high.

The Ministry of Interior also highlighted the features of the second drone, the F216, which has a water or foam tank in addition to powder launchers, capable of firefighting at heights of up to 500 meters and flying for up to 20 minutes. It can carry up to 180 kg and both drones are remotely controlled using a wireless device, allowing for improved response time in handling incidents, ensuring swift and effective firefighting.

The General Directorate of Information Systems also participated in the exhibition, presenting a variety of services available to the public. The ministry announced the latest update to the Metrash app, with a new visual identity following modern design principles, offering interactive interfaces and quick access to services.

The ministry further said that service workflows have been re-engineered, integrating and simplifying some services, reducing the number of steps required to complete actions with minimal requirements. New services have been added to the app, including features such as personal profiles, authorizations, inquiries, security services, appointment booking, and certificates. Additionally, modern payment methods have been introduced, along with artificial intelligence to enhance the user experience, enabling effective communication between users and the application and improving the apps responsiveness for faster service processing.
