MIDDLETOWN – A young teenager was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune from the Middletown Sports Complex on Thursday, after he became pinned between two motor vehicles, according to police.
The identity of the juvenile was not made public and his exact age was not immediately available on Thursday night.
Deputy Police Chief Paul J. Bailey said the boy suffered “moderate injuries that are not life-threatening” when he was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot near the Ice World facility at 214 Harmony Road, just after 5 p.m. Thursday.
The circumstances of the “low-speed crash” are under investigation by the Middletown Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, Bailey said.
The motorist who was involved in the crash remained at the scene, Bailey said.
No charges were listed on Thursday.
