Michigan State basketball keeps taking down ranked opponents, but the AP poll voters don’t seem to care, at least for now, as the Spartans were held at No. 8 in the latest AP poll despite recent wins over No. 12 Wisconsin and No. 13 Maryland.
This will probably irk some MSU fans, who probably have a case to think the Spartans could have been placed ahead of Alabama, who has one more loss than MSU on the season. Every other team ahead of Michigan State has at least the same or better record than the Spartans, except for the Rolling Tide, who just lost to Tennessee.
Despite losing to Michigan State, Maryland actually jumped three spots up to No. 13, which feels more appropriate for a strong team like the Terrapins. Michigan fell to No. 17.
