EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Michigan State’s men’s basketball schedule for the 2024-25 season, presented by Rocket Mortgage, was announced on Thursday afternoon.
MSU will play both home and away against Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota.
Big Ten opponents to visit the Breslin Center include Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin, as well as new Big Ten Conference members Oregon and Washington.
Conference road games include visits to Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State and Rutgers, as well as new conference members UCLA and USC.
The Spartans will play a pair of exhibition games, starting on Sunday, Oct. 13, when the Spartans visit Northern Michigan. This will be the first visit for 30th-year Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo to his alma mater to coach a game. Izzo was a 1977 graduate of Northern Michigan.
The second exhibition is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 29 against Ferris State at the Breslin Center.
Michigan State officially opens the 2024-25 regular season on Monday, Nov. 4, hosting Monmouth at the Breslin Center.
Big Ten Conference play starts on Wednesday, Dec. 4, with the Spartans playing at Minnesota. MSU plays its first conference home game on Saturday, Dec. 7 against Nebraska.
Times and television for some non-conference games and all Big Ten contests will be announced at a later date.
