It was not MSU’s day in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon when the Spartans met with new Big Ten member USC. Michigan State would suffer their first Big Ten loss of the 2024-25 season, falling to 18-3 (9-1 B1G), with a 70-64 loss to the Trojans.
The Spartans went down early in this matchup, 22-7, and ultimately couldn’t overcome the deficit, never leading in the game. The team never took the lead, despite cutting the deficit to within a possession on multiple occasions.
In the scoring department, Jeremy Fears (12 points) and Jaden Akins (11 points) were the only players in double figures. Eight other Spartans scored, but none got into double figures.
