Michigan State baseball has gone on the road to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they will play three games after spending last weekend going 4-0 while in North Carolina. To open their trip to the Lone Star state, MSU faced off with Washington State.
Behind the arm of their ace, Joseph Dzierwa, the Spartans rolled the Cougars on Friday afternoon. MSU defeated Wazzu, 9-2, improving to 5-0 on the season.
In the winning effort, Dzierwa went seven innings, only giving up one hit while striking out 12. His pitching efforts were relieved by Tate Farquhar and Dominic Pianto.
Scoring nine runs, the Spartans mashed the ball, and kicked it off with four in the first inning. Six different Spartans secured RBIs in the game, helping the MSU scoring efforts.
The Spartans will be back in action when they go against Texas A&M Corpus Christi tomorrow evening.
