Tuesday, Dec. 10: Myles Pollard to enter the Transfer Portal
Over his three seasons with the Wolverines, Pollard appeared in nine games, including two at cornerback in 2024. The former three-star recruit from Ravenwood (Tenn.) High School was in the mix to compete for a two-deep role this fall in a rebuilding secondary, but his playing time was ultimately limited. The Wolverines are expected to return corners Jyaire Hill and Zeke Berry, among others, in addition to an incoming freshman class featuring five players who can contribute in the secondary: Shamari Earls, Elijah Dotson, Kainoa Winston, Jordan Young and Jayden Sanders.
Update: Pollard has committed to Memphis.
Friday, Dec. 13: QB Alex Orji enters the Transfer Portal
Alex Orji started three games for the Wolverines in 2024, in addition to his role as a wildcat QB throughout his time in Ann Arbor. In his career, he had 72 non-sack carries, for 413 yards and four touchdowns and 27 first downs. As a passer, however, Orji never developed into the quarterback Michigan hoped he would become. After attempting just one pass to 21 carries in his first two seasons, Orji was 23-for-44 passing, for 148 yards, three touchdowns and one interception this season. He threw for just 133 yards on 37 attempts in his three starts — against USC, Minnesota and Washington — and only attempted one pass in Michigan’s final six games. He was 2-for-14 as a passer when attempting passes 10 yards or more downfield, for just 31 yards.
Quick thoughts: Moving forward, Michigan is slated to choose between a transfer portal quarterback, incoming freshman Bryce Underwood and potentially returning quarterbacks Davis Warren and Jadyn Davis for next year’s starting job. — ZS

Update: Samaha has signed with the North Carolina Tar Heels.
