MIAMI – A Miami youth basketball coach was arrested Tuesday on accusations that he exposed himself to a 10-year-old boy and had the boy send him photos of his penis, authorities confirmed.
According to an arrest report, the victim’s mother notified police on Jan. 21 that her 19-year-old son had found text messages between her younger son and Charles Akim Williams, 26, of Miami, who is a basketball coach at Belafonte-Tacolcy Park.
Police said Williams told the victim through text, “Lemme see da chicken,” referring to the boy’s penis, and the victim sent him two photos of his penis.
Police said Williams responded with laughing emojis and then told the boy to “delete and unsend” the messages.
According to the report, Williams also exposed himself to the victim on a FaceTime call and sent the victim a pornographic video of a man and woman having anal sex, asking the victim if he thought he could do that.
The victim told police that he got scared and hung up the phone when Williams exposed himself to him.
The boy said he had met Williams a couple of weeks prior through a 14-year-old friend at the Gibson Community Center.
He said he communicated with Williams through iMessage and the PS5 chat, and claimed Williams offered him an electric scooter if he sent him photos of his penis, the report stated.
Police said the victim’s older brother went through his phone because a text message had come through from Williams as the victim was sleeping and the older brother had found it odd that a grown man was Facetiming and playing video games with his brother.
Williams was arrested Tuesday and invoked his right to have an attorney present before speaking with detectives.
He faces charges of lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child under 16, lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16, electronic transmission harmful to minors in state, promoting sexual performance by a child and tampering with an informant.
As of Wednesday morning, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
According to his arrest report, Williams is currently on probation for a Palm Beach Police Department case and was expected to complete his probation on Feb. 21, 2026.
