Manhattan High girls’ golf — led by back-to-back individual champion sophomore Maddie Myers — won its second consecutive Centennial League title.
The Indians tallied a team score of 314, slotting five strokes ahead of second-place Washburn Rural and 10 strokes better than Hayden High — the host of this year’s league tournament.
Last year’s individual title holder, Myers defended her status at the top with a blistering 72 carded. Her tally was 1-over par at the 5871-yard, par-71 course at Shawnee Country Club — three strokes ahead of the second-place individual.
Senior Kaitlyn Lagabed joined Myers as a first-team All-League member with her 78, carding a sixth-place finish.
Trailing her was junior Lily Bahr notching a second-team All-League performance, shooting an 80 for eighth place.
Earning honorable mention All-League were junior Wrenn Burton, senior Emily Wuggazer and junior Kat Ball. Burton led the trio with a 13th-place mark of 83, followed by Wuggazer with an 87 for 14th place and Ball in 15th place with an 89.
The Indians have a quick turnaround, hitting the links again for tournament play on Wednesday at the Lawrence High Invitational at Eagle Bend Golf Course.
