MGM Resorts bets on Brazil with Grupo Globo gambling JV

US entertainment group MGM Resorts has enlisted Pinheiro Neto Advogados in São Paulo for a joint venture with Brazilian media company Grupo Globo, through which the companies aim to obtain a licence to launch sports betting and iGaming operations in Brazil next year – a move that comes after the country recently legalised fixed-odds betting for the first time in over 75 years.
