BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The South Dakota State men’s golf team posted a 9-under team tally in the second round of the Jackrabbit Invitational Friday and leads the team race with 18 holes remaining.
Bryson Mercier posted a 65 (-7) for round two, matching the SDSU single-round program record. He is -8 over 36 holes and has a seven-shot lead at the top of the individual leaderboard.
Ty Kretz tallied a 67 (-5) for his second round and is tied for fifth place overall. He is 1-over through two rounds played. Drew Teeter is tied for 20th place (+8), followed by Tyler Seeling in 28th (+9). The team is rounded out by Blake Schaper in a tie for 28th place (+11).
Jake Olson is representing the Jacks as an individual competitor. He is 1-over par and in seventh place. Marco Lin is also competing individually and is tied with Seeling in 28th.
The Jackrabbits team is +9 for the tournament, which is seven shots ahead of Northern Iowa in second place.
SDSU will work to maintain its spot on top with the final 18 holes Saturday. Play will resume at 7 a.m. PST Saturday morning.
