NEWTON, Kan. – Monday’s round of the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational saw the Central Arkansas men’s golf team slip to tenth. Headed into Tuesday’s final round, the Bears sit five strokes out of the top-five.
Kalle Svederman continued to play good golf on Monday, maintaining a top-five position with another round of 2-under golf. Through two rounds, he has eight birdies, and has yet to go over par on a hole in the back nine. Vukasin Suturovic shot up the leaderboard with the fifth-best round of the day, a 4-under 68. The Serbian tallied four birdies and an eagle to jump up the rankings on day two.
Jack Wilson played his way to a 2-over 74, birdying 16 to close out day two with a two-round score of 150. Wilson is tied with Easton Denny, who had two birdies in the second round to end the day with a 150 of his own. Max Bialy tallied four birdies on Monday, rounding out the day at 151. Noah Blaickner, opening on the back nine, birdied 16, 17 and 18 to help himself to a 2-over 74. He closed Monday at a 153.
Incarnate Word moved up into first place with one round left, taking a two-stroke lead over SIUE. Wichita State fell from second to third, six strokes out of the lead. Incarnate Word’s Ken-Marten Soo is in first place, with Xavier’s Kellen Dean and Southern Indiana’s Jason Bannister tied for second.
