EDISON, N.J. — On Wednesday morning, the MAAC released its 2025 Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll which had Manhattan men’s golf slated to finish tied for 5th with Mount St. Mary’s, according to a release by the conference. The Jaspers’ roster is characterized by immense youth, with 4 freshmen and 4 sophomores competing for the Kelly Green & White.
The underclassmen ranks include Róbert Leó Arnórsson, Cabell Faulkner, Aaron Huang, Louis Vandeputte, Akshay Mandadapu, Luke O’Grady-Rodgers and Patrik Vinter. The Jaspers rely on the veteran presence of junior Dimitri Mihelakos and graduate student Ashley Sewell. The Jaspers are led by third-year coach Keith Prokop.
The fall portion of the schedule was highlighted by a T-1 finish in the SHU Fall Classic which was held from 9/30-10/1 at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Connecticut. Manhattan’s winning effort was its best team finish since earning second place at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate in Fall 2023.
The Jaspers also nabbed 6th place at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate which took place at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Berlin, Connecticut from 9/21-9/22.. Among a 16-team field, the Jaspers finished ahead of schools such as Iona, Fordham, Siena, Monmouth and Merrimack.
“After seeing the preseason poll it shows the program is getting some recognition inside the MAAC that we are on the rise,” said Prokop. “Just two short years ago we were last on this list and to be listed on the top half this year is testament to the hard work we have been putting in.”
