NEWTON, Kan. – The Central Arkansas men’s golf team moved up into seventh on the final day of the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational, thanks to two top-ten finishers. Kalle Svederson held on for a fourth-place finish, while Vukasin Suturovic played the best round of the day to rocket up to seventh.
Svederman continued to play extremely consistent golf, finsihng the tournament with a 1-over 73. He added three more birdies to finish with a final score of 213, and the first top-five finish by a Bear this season. Suturovic tallied nine birdies, including two stretches of four-straight, to power his way into the top-10.
Maksymilian Bialy played his best round on Tuesday, notching an even 72 to round out a final score of 223. Jack Wilson scored two more birdies in his final round to score a 75, turning in a three-round score of 225. Noah Blaickner had two birdies of his own to total seven for the week. His final score after 54 holes was 229. Easton Denny played his third round as an individual, rounding out a 235.
Wichita State moved into first place after a 3-under 285 round on Tuesday, moving from third to first. Incarnate Word slipped to second after its worst round of the week, and Xavier and SIUE tied for third. Xavier’s Kellen Dean took home the individual medal, with Oklahoma State’s Johnny Clark and Southern Indiana’s Jason Bannister rounding out the top-three.
Central Arkansas returns to the course next week, playing in the Everett Buick GMC Classic in Little Rock. For complete stats and scores, visit the tournament page.
