HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — App State Men’s Golf begins the competitive portion of its 2025 spring schedule with Monday’s opening rounds of the Wexford Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion.
The two-day, 54-hole event is scheduled to have 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available via Clippd.
In addition to Francis Marion and App State, the 18-team field includes Denver, Dayton, USC Aiken, Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, East Carolina, Xavier, Presbyterian, High Point, Mercer, Radford, Cleveland State, Cornell, Temple, Samford and Dartmouth.
App State’s five-player lineup will be made up of Ben Read, Alex Martin, Herman Huus, Ben Locker and Colin Browning.
Martin’s fall included a runner-up finish at the River Run Collegiate, and Read posted a top-25 finish in each of his three fall appearances. Huus is App State’s top returning finisher from the 2024 Sun Belt Championship.
The 2024-25 season is presented by Hound Ears Club.
After this week’s event, App State plays in Puerto Rico the following week before hosting two events off the mountain: the Surf Club Invitational in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., from March 10-11 and the Irish Creek Collegiate in Kannapolis from April 7-8. The Sun Belt Championship will be held again in Madison, Miss., from April 21-24.
