JACKSON, Tenn. – The Belmont men’s golf team finished in 12th place at the Grover Page Classic held this week at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
Belmont posted a final round score of 301 to finish in 12th place at 589. SIUE captured the team title with a mark of 559. Austin Peay placed second at 562, while Morehead State was third at 567.
The Bruins had two golfers finish among the top-35. Leading the way was junior Conner Brown, who carded a final round 70, to finish in a tie for 24th place at 143. He finished 10 shots back of the medalist, Brady Kaufman of SIUE (133).
Sophomore Chris Harpum was two strokes back of Brown and finished in a tie for 34th place at 145. HE shot a final round 73 on Tuesday.
Other Belmont scores included: graduate student Foster Wood (T-67, 151), sophomore Grey Goff (T-75, 152), and sophomore Jack Darke (T-93, 156).
Two Bruins competed as individuals. Sophomore Grant Clark tied for 24th place at 143, while freshman Brennan Cozad finished in a tie for 56th place at 149.
The men’s golf team is back on the links September 28-29 at the Virtues Intercollegiate, hosted by Bowling Green, in Nashport, Ohio.
