Greensboro, N.C. — The University of Lynchburg men’s golf team concluded its fall schedule with a seventh-place finish at the O’Briant Jensen Memorial tournament, hosted by Guilford, on Tuesday evening.
The Hornets finished the two-day competition with a combined score of 47 over par. The squad ended the first day of the tournament 12 over and wrapped up day two with a combined score 35 above par.
Senior Eddie Coffren V highlighted the Lynchburg performance and tied for sixth overall at the event with a final score of +4. After the first round, Coffren topped the leaderboard by completing the round three under par. The Owings, Md. native ended at +7 in the second round to earn the sixth-place finish.
Junior Alan Van Asch was the next top finisher for the Hornets at 20th overall. After closing the first round even with par, he was nine over par in the second round to earn the 20th spot. Junior Simon Burgos followed, placing 30th after concluding the tournament 12 over par. The other Lynchburg performers were sophomore Ben Chamberlin, who finished in 83rd at +22, and freshman Dennis McGowan, who wrapped up at +36th for 105th.
The Hornets have finished their fall slate of competitions and will look ahead to the 2025 spring season. The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
